Two AEW Talents Successfully Undergo Major Surgery
Darby Allin and Malakai Black Both Expected to Miss Action for Several Months
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) stars Darby Allin and Malakai Black have both successfully undergone major surgery, the company announced today. Allin had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, while Black had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.
Both wrestlers are expected to miss action for several months. Allin is expected to be out for 4-6 months, while Black is expected to be out for 6-9 months.
Allin suffered his injury during a match against Andrade El Idolo on the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite. Black suffered his injury during a match against Brody King on the June 8 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The injuries are a major blow to AEW, as both Allin and Black are key members of the roster. Allin is a former TNT Champion, while Black is a former AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
AEW has not yet announced how they will address the absences of Allin and Black. However, it is likely that the company will use this as an opportunity to push other wrestlers up the card.
