Dan Rather Blasts Supreme Court Decision: "Thousands of Americans Will Die"
Former CBS Anchor Warns of Dire Consequences
In a scathing interview with CBS News, former anchor Dan Rather unleashed a torrent of criticism on the Supreme Court's recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
"It Isn't Every Day You Can Say Thousands of Americans Will Likely Die Because of What the Supreme Court Justices Ruled"
Rather, a Texan by birth and choice, expressed deep concern for the consequences of the Court's ruling. "It isn't every day you can say thousands of Americans will likely die because of what the Supreme Court justices ruled," he said.
"Women Will Die"
Rather argued that the decision would disproportionately affect poor and minority women. "Women will die. Women will die in childbirth. Women will die because of botched abortions," he warned.
"The Supreme Court Has Lost Its Legitimacy"
Rather also criticized the Court's composition, arguing that it has become too partisan. "The Supreme Court has become a nakedly political institution," he said. "It has lost its legitimacy."
"A Dark Day for America"
Rather concluded his interview by calling the decision "a dark day for America." He urged Americans to fight for their rights and to hold their elected officials accountable.
