Fresh off 2-1 loss, Timbers seek redemption
With a major home test coming up this weekend, the Portland Timbers will be looking to climb back up the Western Conference standings when they host Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
Currently sitting in eighth place after a 2-1 loss last time out to FC Dallas, the Timbers have not lost at home so far during Major League Soccer (MLS) play. And with a chance to gain some much-needed points, Portland will be looking to capitalize on the momentum from last week's loss when they take the field against Real Salt Lake on Saturday afternoon.

Timbers seek offensive spark
The Timbers have struggled to score goals in recent weeks, with just 11 in their last eight matches. And while Evander has been a major contributor with four goals during that stretch, the team will need more production from other players if they want to be successful this season. One player who has been relatively quiet is Dairon Asprilla, who has just one goal in his last eight appearances. The Colombian winger will need to be more involved in the attack if the Timbers want to generate more scoring chances.
Real Salt Lake looking to continue strong start

The Utah-based club has won four of their last five games, including a 2-0 victory over LAFC last weekend. Jefferson Savarino has been a major force for Real Salt Lake this season, with five goals in 11 appearances. The Venezuelan winger is a dangerous threat on the attack, and the Timbers will need to be wary of his ability to create chances for himself and his teammates.
